Why in Aluminé river?

The Aluminé River is cataloged by its “upper” section between grades III and IV plus, with a constant gradient of 150 meters during an extension of 12 kilometers; while the “medium” sector called “Abra Ancha” has a vertical drop of 20 meters and a series of 15 staggered rapids with grades II to III. Meanwhile, the river Ruca Choroi, has a track that offers exceptional conditions for its flow, slope and quality of its waters, for the practice of slalom and the realization of national and international competitive events.

Rafting on the Aluminé River has become one of the main activities in the area surpassing each year its record of visitors. Surely due to its different difficulties that make possible the enjoyment of the whole family, since we found its fast-moving rapids and found its calm sectors in which children and elderly or with some physical difficulty can perform the activity. The descends through the transparent waters are framed in an idyllic landscape between Andean Patagonian Forest and Estepa interrupted by imposing rock formations, home to condors, araucaria cypresses and araucarias.

Monguelen Newen Có

“Monguelen Newen Có” is the slogan in the language of the Mapuche communities, which proposes to experience the 2018 World Cup on the waters of the Aluminé River. “Live the strength of the river”, is the invitation of Aluminé, Villa Pehuenia-Moquehue and Lonco Luan, of the Province of Neuquén, to enter the event framed in the imposing landscapes of mountain range, the rivers, the lakes, the forests of millenary araucania trees, and the hospitality provided by the warmth of its people.

The championship has its origins in 1989 with a participation of up to 50 teams competing in different categories and ages (Sprint, H2H, Slalom and Down River). As of the year 2000, it is organized every year, and some of the selected destinations are Costa Rica, South Africa, Chile, the United States, the Czech Republic, Ecuador, South Korea, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates.
